Anastasija Gichevska is a concert pianist, educator, and chamber musician, acclaimed for her refined artistry, versatility, and commitment to musical excellence. She began her musical journey in her hometown of Bitola, where she completed her primary and secondary music education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance with honors from the Faculty of Music in Skopje, studying under Prof. Marija Gjoshevska. Furthering her education, Anastasija obtained a Master’s degree from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and completed advanced studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) in Austria with Prof. Zuzana Niederdorfer.

As a teacher, Anastasija is known for her thoughtful, student-centered approach. She adapts her methods to the unique learning style, goals, and personality of each student, whether they are young beginners, advanced pianists, or adult learners. Her lessons combine technical precision with emotional expression, aiming to build not only solid pianistic foundations but also a deep connection to the music. She places strong emphasis on developing musicality, independent thinking, and artistic identity, empowering students to make interpretive choices and grow into confident performers.

In her teaching, creativity and critical thinking are encouraged. Students are guided to explore music beyond the notes—through listening, analysis, movement, and improvisation—while building a healthy technique and expressive playing. Anastasija also incorporates elements of mindfulness and body awareness into her pedagogy, helping students overcome tension and performance anxiety.

Her dedication to teaching excellence has resulted in many student successes, including awards at national and international competitions, as well as admissions to prestigious music institutions. Whether preparing for performance, exams, or personal enrichment, her students benefit from her wide-ranging experience as a performer and pedagogue.

Throughout her own career, Anastasija has won over 30 international piano competition prizes, including first prizes at prestigious competitions such as the International Piano Competition Interfest, the Polyphonic Competition in North Macedonia, Vienna Gala Fest, Ankara International Piano Competition, Malta International Piano Competition, IMKA International Competition, Maestro Orchestra International Competition, Ohrid Pearls International Piano Competition, and many more. She was awarded the esteemed Yamaha Award for Best Pianist in North Macedonia and has received numerous scholarships and accolades, including recognition from the Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation.

Her musical artistry has been showcased in renowned concert venues across Europe and beyond, including Ehrbar Saal in Vienna, Križanke in Ljubljana, Concert Hall SDKM in Denmark, and Notre-Dame de Piétat in Tarbes (France), as well as in the USA, Italy, Serbia, Kosovo, Slovenia, and other countries.

Anastasija has refined her artistry through masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists such as Natalia Trull, Simon Trpčeski, David Fray, Oleg Marshev, Bertrand Giraud, Cristina Marton Argerich, and Maja Djogo. She studied at the French Connection Academy in Denmark under Prof. Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist, where she received both a scholarship and a performance prize. In 2025, she completed a masterclass at the Thalberg Academy under Prof. Giuseppe Devastato.

A devoted chamber musician, Anastasija has worked with mentors such as Bojan Gorišek and Andreas Woyke and regularly performs in duos and trios at festivals in Croatia, Austria, and Slovenia. She has also performed as a soloist with the Macedonian Philharmonic and frequently collaborates on projects spanning video game soundtracks and film scores.
